Océ helps customers ‘connect the dots’ at FESPA Digital 2011

A wide range of products and services to help customers accelerate their signage and display graphics printing business

Venlo, The Netherlands, 4 May 2011 - Océ, an international leader in digital document management, will be showing visitors how to ‘connect the dots’ to new applications, to help score more business. This year, the company showcases various systems designed specifically for producing display graphics applications on the Océ stand D70 (Hall A1) at the FESPA Digital Europe 2011 exhibition from May 24-27, 2011, in Hamburg, Germany.

Amazing things connect on the Océ Display Graphics stand at FESPA Digital 2011 – everything a print provider needs to score more business. Océ is a single source to help print providers build a display and signage printing business, or to help customers branch out into new areas such as industrial applications and specialty printing. On the stand, visitors can experience UV Flatbeds, Roll-to-Roll, Instant Posters, Finishing, Imaging Supplies, Workflow and Expertise demonstration areas, and learn how these systems work together to connect ideas to profits.

UV Flatbeds

The Océ Arizona® Series of UV flatbed printers is the world’s best selling range with more than 2500 installations worldwide since 2006. These award-winning printers give customers the ability to print high quality imagery on nearly any rigid or flexible media imaginable. They are perfect for traditional display applications such as POP, directional signage, backlit images and window graphics, and can also be used to print on exotic materials and objects for high-value, high-margin specialty applications.

On the stand is the new Océ Arizona 360 GT model, offering increased productivity and versatility for rigid and flexible media prints. It features a table size of 1.25 x 2.5 meters, and an Express Mode print speed of up to 35 square meters per hour, which is ideal for on-demand and quick-turnaround banner and outdoor work. A new High Definition print mode delivers incredibly fine feature reproduction including the ability to print text as small as two-point size, enabling print providers to offer higher-margin technical and industrial applications such as printing on lenticular lenses and membrane panels.

Also on display is the Océ Arizona 550 XT printer with a table size of 2.5 x 3.05 meters, and an Express Mode print speed of up to 65.9 square meters per hour. The extra large table can accommodate oversized sheets and objects up to 250 x 305 cm, and enables the printer to be used in a continuous imaging mode for rigid media up to 125 x 250 cm.

Nearly one hundred and ten 125 x 250 cm boards can be produced in a single eight-hour shift on the Océ Arizona 550 XT printer, making it a great solution for typical sign and display work that would otherwise go to the screen press. Connect an Océ Arizona printer to the Océ ProCut system to create structural POP and exhibit displays, decals, contour fabric displays and even custom furniture.

Roll-to-Roll

Workhorses of the industry, Océ offers a wide range of roll-to-roll printers to suit every display graphics need. For outdoor-durable prints, the Océ CS6410 mild-solvent printer delivers the perfect balance between high-speed printing and excellent print quality that can be used up to three years outdoors. It enables users to produce rush jobs and manage peak volumes while still meeting clients’ high print quality demands and delivery requirements.

The Océ CS9160 eco-solvent printer deliver exceptional print quality with high UV fade resistance. It is a versatile printer for creating durable graphics on coated and uncoated media. It is ideal for entrepreneurs that want to start offering high quality indoor and outdoor prints; print providers active in this market looking to expand production capacity; and corporate customers for in-house production of visual displays.

Also on display are selected models from the Canon® imagePROGRAF line of printers that produces the full spectrum of colors with extraordinary accuracy and perfect balance. Available in widths up to 152.4 cm, these printers all offer exceptional color reproduction using a twin printhead design that delivers quality and speed. They are ideal for photos, posters and print proofing applications.

Connect any of these printers to Océ Posterizer software to create signage and labels for retail applications. Or connect them to the Océ ProCut system for creating decals and trimming posters.

Instant Posters

The new Océ ColorWave® 600 Poster Printer is changing the way people create – and make money. It is a highly productive and cost-effective way to produce POP displays with clean, green technology. Print providers can use it expand their print services and enhance their profits with instant-dry prints that are cut-to-size and ready to use.

With print speeds of up to 106 square meters per hour, print providers can deliver an entire POP campaign – including banners, posters and flyers – in a single business day.

Finishing

Nearly all digital prints – whether on flexible media or rigid substrates – need trimming or cutting. The Océ ProCutTM digital cutting system can dramatically reduce production time and costs, by automating the finishing steps and streamlining the workflow. It helps print providers significantly trim costs and increase end-user satisfaction. For print providers that are outsourcing trimming and cutting jobs now, the Océ ProCut system can help them recapture that revenue and maintain control of costs.

Connect the Océ ProCut system with an Océ Arizona UV flatbed printer to open up new areas of business that were previously too difficult, too costly or too labor-intensive to be considered profitable.

Imaging Supplies

Océ offers a wide range of roll-based and rigid media for a variety of applications. The right supplies can make a substantial difference to the bottom line of a digital printing business. Océ also maintains color profiles for Océ printers, for all media offered. To find the right material for an Océ printer and application, visit the online media guide at mediaguide.oce.com.

Workflow

To drive all Océ display graphics printers, Océ offers ONYX® ProductionHouseTM version X10 software that dramatically simplifies everyday printing tasks while reducing printing costs and increasing productivity. With tools for automated print-and-cut, superior color profiling and improved file handling, ONYX ProductionHouse software will help print providers take greater control over their workflow.

Océ Posterizer software is a powerful retail signage solution that offers print providers the ability to provide new service and print offerings to their local retail customers, and develop new business opportunities in the POP arena. Using existing printers and a large library of POP templates, print providers can quickly and confidently supply professional looking signage to local retail establishments.

Connect Océ Posterizer software to the Océ ColorWave 600 Poster Printer for a turnkey POP signage solution.
