manroland and Océ to launch U.S. Partnership at Graph Expo 2011
Combination of technical and engineering knowledge brought to the market through strategic cooperation
Westmont, IL, USA, 11 September 2011 - On December 1, 2010, Océ and manroland announced a global strategic alliance in which manroland would market Océ inkjet-based digital printing solutions to the graphic arts industry. The alliance was initially focused on Europe where the two companies have experienced many successes, including their joint introduction of the world’s first total digital solution from Océ and manroland at digi:media 2011.
Mal Baboyian, President of Océ North America’s Commercial Printing Division stated, “manroland has a strong reputation for excellence in the graphic arts industry and we believe our strategic alliance will enable us to firmly establish Océ inkjet technology in the commercial print, label and packaging, and newspaper markets.”
manroland and Océ will be the first offset/digital partnership on the market to offer total digital printing solutions aimed specifically at the graphic arts industry. Services provided through the partnership include consulting, systems, services and materials. The companies will supply solutions that cover all of the manufacturing steps within the graphic arts industry by combining print data management, integrated workflow solutions, printing, and post-processing.
In one of the first public displays of the alliance in the US, the two companies will have a joint presence at Graph Expo 2011. Océ representatives will be present at the manroland press conference, and in the manroland booth #1236, which will also be host to a video demonstration of the Océ JetStream inkjet. manroland CEO Vince Lapinski will also participate in the Océ press conference. The manroland and Océ launch in the U.S. was a determining factor in manroland’s choice of theme message for their Graph Expo booth, “Digital meets offset power.”
“manroland has never looked at digital presses as a competing technology, but rather as another piece of the puzzle,” stated Vince Lapinski, CEO of manroland North America. “The partnership between manroland and Océ is not just a sales relationship, but rather a strategy to give customers the best possible solution for their business. We are partnering with Océ in order to give the printing industry the benefits of our shared knowledge, and combined engineering forces. We all come out ahead in this situation.”
