Océ VarioPrint Titanium earns Bertl’s five-star
Exceptional rating for complete printing and finishing factory
Venlo, Netherlands, September 19, 2006—The newly launched Océ VarioPrint Titanium line has already earned one of the most prestigious awards in the industry: the coveted five-star exceptional rating from BERTL. The 100% independent analysis company concluded that the Océ VarioPrint Titanium 2100 and Océ VarioPrint Titanium 2110 systems surpass other digital production printers in terms of quality, productivity, simplicity and operating costs. This enables corporate printrooms and commercial printshops to produce higher volumes hour-after-hour in multiple and extended shifts. The Océ VarioPrint Titanium and the supporting Océ PRISMA workflow software were tested by BERTL under a non-disclosure agreement prior to their launch in September 2006.
‘Océ promotes a productivity philosophy that combines ease of use, reliability, throughput, and quality. The company has worked towards these objectives by designing the media handling, transport system, imaging system, and toner application process that make up the Océ Copy Press printing system,’ according to BERTL’s review. ‘The devices have a higher quality rating, faster RIP and print speed and improvements with a new integrated high-end controller.’
A breath of fresh air for operators
Analysts from BERTL highlighted the systems’ ease of operation. ‘Océ has improved upon its Océ PRISMA software, which is still simple to navigate, robust with capabilities and features, and falls into Océ's focus on ease of use. It is obvious that from the point of command—either at the front end or control panel—what used to require three people for major production now requires only one operator with the Océ VarioPrint 2100/2110 Titanium printers. The savings are obvious before installation of either of these digital production printers.’
The report continues, ‘Technology was supposed to make our world more simplified. Digital production—with all the different devices, software solutions, and calibration issues—has become anything but. The Océ VarioPrint Titanium line is a breath of fresh air in this regard, with a simplified approach to the complexities of digital production.’
Wide variety of applications
‘The Océ VarioPrint 2100 Titanium and Océ VarioPrint 2110 Titanium digital production printers offer many possible production solutions with the extensive Océ and third-party finishing range. They can meet a wide variety of applications to satisfy most customers’ needs. With the new technological advancement of a high-end controller integrated into the engine itself, it is obvious that the Titanium line is a force to be reckoned with. Print and copy productivity are up to par with the usual high quality BERTL has come to expect from Océ.’
Productivity through the complete workflow
No paper jams occurred during BERTL’s extensive testing. The input capacity of 10,200 A4/letter and output capacity of 10,500 A4/letter allows uninterrupted, unattended production of more than 3 hours. BERTL also evaluated Océ Doc Works Pro and related tools that are part of the Océ PRISMA suite, the preferred front-end software for Océ cutsheet production systems. These use Adobe® PDF workflow that is compliant with open, market-standard document formats to streamline job submission, acceptance, preparation, production, finishing and archiving for Océ and non-Océ digital production printers. The goal is to improve printroom and printshop efficiency and seamlessly integrate the Océ VarioPrint 2100 Titanium and Océ VarioPrint 2110 Titanium with third party proprietary archives and printers.
