Venlo, the Netherlands, 11 April 2006—Océ N.V., a leading player in digital printing and document management for professionals, today announced three new document workflow software packages which streamline printing to Océ hardware systems, including the new Océ VarioPrint 6250, the world's fastest duplex printer launched last week at IPEX 2006. Thanks to strong first reactions from the market, the availability of all three packages will be moved forward for use on award-winning Océ VarioPrint 2100 series printers and Océ Colour Production Systems.
Océ PRISMAprepare document preparation software for any production printer
Océ PRISMAprepare is a new document preparation software application, which unleashes the power of any production system. Based on Adobe PDF technology, this device-independent software allows users to produce colour or black & white on Océ cutsheet production printers or competitive systems. Océ PRISMAprepare offers three modes to power up PDF workflow. From 'simple and easy' mode for more frequent tasks, to 'expert touch' mode for specialised jobs using third-party applications. Providing a new standard in document preparation, Océ PRISMAprepare has been designed to tap the full production power of printers like the Océ VarioPrint 2100 series and the new Océ VarioPrint 6250, the world's fastest duplex printer. Océ PRISMAprepare will shortly become a standard component of Océ's industry-leading PRISMA suite, succeeding the successful Océ Doc Works Pro page programming module. Océ PRISMAprepare will be available for delivery as of September 2006.
Océ DPlink for printing from Xerox software to Océ printers
Océ DPlink allows users to print documents from Xerox DigiPath and Xerox FreeFlow MakeReady to Océ production printers without losing job ticket settings and media attributes. The main benefit is that customers do not have to change their workflow. The Océ VarioPrint 6250, and Océ VarioPrint 2100 series can simply be used by Xerox DigiPath and FreeFlow MakeReady, emulating a Xerox DocuTech 6180. No need for a separate server. No conversion problems. Simply plug and print. Océ DPlink will be available for delivery as of September 2006.
Océ DPconvert for migrating from proprietary formats to open systems
Océ DPconvert transforms Xerox proprietary RDO jobs into open-standard PDF and XML formats and imports them into Océ PRISMAprepare. The converted jobs include job ticket settings and media attributes which can be edited in Océ PRISMAprepare. Because Océ PRISMAprepare is device-independent, these jobs can then be printed on any production printer, including the DocuTech 6100 series, without losing their job ticket settings and media attributes. As a result, users can make substantial productivity gains throughout the entire workflow, from submission, preparation and production right through to finishing and archiving. Océ DPconvert is now available for standard delivery.
